Dr. Brian Yomtov
Dr. Brian Yomtov is a Chiropractic Kinesiologist in private practice in Stamford, Connecticut. Dr. Yomtov received his Doctorate in Chiropractic from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois. He did his undergraduate studies in Exercise Science at the University of Rhode Island.
Dr. Yomtov is a Professional Applied Kinesiologist (PAK) certified through the International College of Applied Kinesiology. He is certified in Chiropractic Pediatrics through the Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice and Council, and Webster Technique certified through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. Dr. Yomtov has a fellowship (FIMA) and diplomate (Dipl. Ac.) from the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture. Prior to attending Chiropractic school Dr. Yomtov worked as a Personal Fitness Trainer and designed strength and conditioning programs for his clients. Dr. Yomtov's post graduate studies include extensive hours in acupuncture, clinical nutrition, sports medicine, energy medicine techniques and concussion management. Dr. Yomtov also holds certifications in Acupuncture and Meridian Therapy, and Neuro-Emotional Technique. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Yomtov has taught courses in anatomy, kinesiology, pathology, exercise and nutrition at the Connecticut Center of Massage Therapy in Westport.
Dr. Yomtov believes in blending the best of traditional and alternative medical perspectives into his practice. Dr. Yomtov’s primary diagnostic tool is Applied Kinesiology (AK). The science of AK draws from many different therapies, including Chiropractic, osteopathic and traditional medicine, acupuncture, clinical nutrition, psychology, and exercise rehabilitation. Through the practice of AK, Dr. Yomtov uses muscle testing to evaluate the brain and nervous system, which oversees and controls every single function in the human body. Dr. Yomtov treats the whole person by addressing his or her physical, nutritional, and emotional health. He may also utilize traditional diagnostic measures such as X-ray, MRI, blood work, urine, stool, hair, and saliva laboratory testing to aid in the assessment of various injuries and conditions.
Dr. Yomtov is a highly regarded public speaker who lectures on wellness and fitness topics at such varied locations as Fleetfeet, UFC Gym, the Stamford Jewish Community Center, Dew Yoga and Newfield Elementary School's Kindergarden. He is a featured speaker at local corporate "Lunch and Learn" sessions at Oracle, GE and WWE. Dr. Yomtov is a past board member of the Stamford YMCA and a current volunteer with the Stamford JCC and his daughters' elementary school.
When not working or studying, Dr. Yomtov enjoys trail running, road races, and obstacle races like Tough Mudders and the Spartan series, fly fishing, mountain biking, reading, listening to music and spending time with his two amazing young daughters, extended family and friends.
